Annette Skafgaard Named Executive Director of St. Coletta's of Illinois
October 3, 2016 - Tinley Park, IL – Mr. William Waddell, Chairman of the Board of Directors, announced that Annette Skafgaard has been named Executive Director of St. Coletta’s of Illinois, Inc., effective on October 1, 2016.
Ms. Skakgaard has a combined 25 years of experience in social services and healthcare administration. She came to St. Coletta’s of Illinois 10 years ago as the Director of Finance with fifteen years of corporate healthcare leadership in both the non-for-profit and for-profit sectors. Annette started her career in public accounting where she dealt with various industries. In the past ten years, she has participated in the executive management of St. Coletta’s of Illinois and moved into the Vice President of Finance and Operations role and now into the Executive Director role.
St. Coletta’s has dealt with the same financial and programmatic challenges that all agencies have gone through since the recession. Annette has analyzed operations and has made adjustments where necessary to steer the agency through difficult economic times. She participates in a network of like- agencies who work with legislators to educate them on the issues that agencies face such as funding, staffing, and regulatory changes.
Annette said her leadership style is “based on teamwork, brainstorming, and thinking ‘out of the box.’ Staff have different experiences, education, and knowledge and when given the opportunity to participate in decision making, staff can grow and excel to help the clients at St. Coletta’s reach their highest potential.”
Ms. Skafgaard is a graduate of Purdue University, where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Accounting and a Master’s in Business Administration. Annette carries both a Nursing Home Administrator license and a Certified Public Accountant License.
